Five Grooves, just because I’ve been so late!!

Ive been busy doing something close to nothing..
no different from the day before….

Who knows where that line is from? HINT- its a VERY famous song from a VERY unique artist:)

The line pretty much sums up the hold up, Ive just been busy listening to new music, exposing my ears to more sublime grooves from around the world…and MAN the U.K. is carrying the torch when it comes to house music and deep house in particular. I wish house music was on the radio more often, back in the day, we had an hour of it on Friday nights, but it really should be EVERYDAY, because this new generation is FULL of “Breakers” and “Body Jackers” (nobody Jacks more than Crumpers)

Such is life as they say..but enough talk…

“Monodelux _Get it ON

One of my personal faves, which is why im posting it. give it a listen and who knows? it just MIGHT grow on you!

Nicolay – Saturday Night feat. Carlitta Durand

DJ Nicolay was said to have done this track and others while in Japan. believe me, i KNOW the feeling. i Still miss Nippon to this day, and something about Japan just inspires you to do something..ANYTHING creative. This track is pretty smooth, i think you guys will like it.

Feel No Better(Atmosphere Mix).mp3

Another good track in my opinion..

“OOH WEEE”- Strange Fruit Project

This rap group does NOT miss. its as simple as that. ive heard all of their albums and these guys are a breath of fresh air. This track is just ONE out of MANY hits they have in my opinion.

Cafe_Bossa-Sirens_del_mar

Some good highs in this track..has a lot of air to it.. give it a try, but not too loud in your headphones :)

Thats it for this round, as always, if you want to support the artists, try doing a search on Itunes or Amazon. A COUPLE of the images have the actual amazon.com links so give em a try before you go using the search engine.

peace

Cafe Solaire….with a Lil’ bit O’…DE LA SOUL :)

Forgive me almighty god of house…( who just MAY be Mel Brooks..I kid, I kid:) it has been some time since my last confession and during that time, i have been listening to the music that you have blessed me with :)

This round, I’m posting up four from the collection, FIRST up..

“Byron Stingily – So Grateful”… see, I call tracks like this “church tracks” only because its puts you in the spirit to dance, and they make you thank GOD for all that we have that’s good in life.  Byron reminds me of the lead singer of the group “Tin City”.  He has a soulful voice made for house. I wish we could get more singers to try their hand at house music (Jill Scott im looking at you) the second track from the same album is “Patrick Green feat. Big Brooklyn Red – I Got Sunshine (Dennis F. Vokal Remix)” another “church track” this is truly church as our singer speaks about God in her life.  Dope track. Take a listen to both tracks here and click on the picture for the amazon link to Cafe Solaire volume 4. Two CD’s

I got a nice DEEEEEEEEEEEEEP track from Cafe Solaire 12 :)   This one is calledSo Glad (feat. Alexandra) [Martino So Deep Mix]“  this is a ZONE OUT TRACK. So get yourself some good speakers, set your receiver to “HALL” with just a little bass to deepen the sound of the reverb…and enjoy :) click on the picture above to grab it off of amazon. Take a listen to it below..

DE LA SOUL….

I LOVE YOU GUYS! (just want to profess my love for three guys who are part of the PANTHEON of true hip hop) That being said,  what I’m posting here is De La’s take on the popular beat from  ZAP (Roger Trautman) “More Bounce to the ounce” called “Relax” the track is so fun and so simple.  You take an IMMORTAL beat and put 2 great Hip Hop artists and you have  B-SIDE classic. Yep, turns out a few of the tracks on this limited CD are B-SIDES.  The mission impossible series are actually 2 CD’s “Operation Japan” the second CD, is a rather hard one to find, but of course…i found it.  How? because GOOD music finds me, my ears are always in tune and my mind is SUBLIME.  Listen to the track below, buy it on amazon by clicking the link.

PEACE!

Alex Cortiz x 2 and São Vicente

Today I’m gracing you guys with 3 tracks. I’m going to go from “cool and lounge” all the way to “sublime” :)

The first track is by Alex Cortiz “Lounge Theme” from the album “MoodFood” what you’ll notice about this one is that it is indeed a lounge theme, with a little bit of Latin flavor. If you’re an audiophile, then you will know that the main overlay beat is merely a supplementation of the underlying grooves. In simple terms, you don’t just listen to the main rhythm in this song which never changes, you listen to every instrument accompanying it.

Next track we go a little bit deeper with…. Alex Cortiz yet again “Glamourgirl” from his album “Make Believe” this track was released in 2001. As you can plainly hear, this is a deeper track from he previous one posted, more up-tempo though. Just as smooth.

This one right here? You drive your car with this track or just do a little bit of house work :)

Lastly we go Sublime…. São Vicente gives us “Ishtar” from the Chillout Trilogy album. This is as deep as it gets :) you have the ambiance, you have the drums, and the smooth horn tops it off. This is a zone out track, this is one where you lay your head on the pillow after a hard day and just zone out (drinks are optional!)

click on the pictures of the albums to go to amazon and purchase OR search for them on ITUNES.

I appreciate the hits you guys have given this blog so thus far..And no worries, I have music for YEARS  :)

Music & Wine (Th’Attaboy Vocal)…i call it a classic

What can i say about Cafe Solaire? presently there are 18 volumes that cover house, deep house, dance, and soul. Bottom line: if you want some new music, then Cafe Solaire has you covered. Todays groove is by one of my favorite DJ’s- Blue Six. This one is called “ Music & Wine (Th’Attaboy Vocal)” Now, there are a couple of remixes to “music and wine”, this one is my personal favorite. This is the one you blast in your headphones or in your ride. As far as im concerned, this one gets me in the mood to love music.

Of course, depending on your speakers you may not feel the full force of this one, but that’s why you go out and try to get the song yourself :) Now im gonna be real with you guys: this song is all over the internet..for free..all you gotta do is type in the words and you can find some link to download it, but if you want to buy it, then try Amazon on iTunes.

CAFE SOLAIRE…remember the name..remember that there are 18 volumes of music that you guys are missing out on…find  it and ENJOY IT!!

Jill Scott-So gone(what my mind says) feat. Paul Wall

I had the new  Jill Scott album for a while now, I just got around to listening to it. to be honest, i aint really impressed. The problem is that she got me used to a certain sound and now this is a new flavor. Maybe the producers are different, but hey, in the end, it doesn’t matter. Jill has given us GREAT music over the years, so one bad album aint gonna turn me on her. That’s my woman :)

Todays track  “So gone(what my mind says)  feat. Paul Wall”  is ripe for sublime status. It’s already gave me some good inspiration for my daily writing (once I have a writing flow, I loop the same song, sometimes for hours and days.) The ONLY thing about me that pisses me off about this song is PAUL WALL. This is one of those tracks where even though he says the correct things, RAP just INVADES the track for me. Its like the track was making love to my mind, then Paul Wall comes in and rapes my eardrum. But again, he says the right things on the track, so the only fault i can find is personal taste.

You can click on the Jill Scott cover for the link to buy the album.

Song is below

Any day I can find a new groove is a beautiful day.

“Christmas Time is here”…Yes, the charlie brown Christmas song..

Well I’m SURE you guys weren’t expecting this one…

at least not this early:)

“Christmas time is here” played by The Merry Christmas Players. The song is from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (One of the greatest cartoons of all time in my opinion) I vividly remember watching this on CBS and singing this song with the characters. Having an ear for music as a kid, I thought this was one of THE most beautiful songs I had ever heard. Of course the version here is redone, and you’re able to clearly hear the instruments. The upright bass and the drum brushes stand out for me.

You know it as well as I know it, this deserves to be here on sublime grooves. It may not be deep house, or blue hip hop, but dammit, it’s sublime :)

You can purchase this on Amazon by clicking here.

So download it to you Ipod and get those ice skates and find an ice skating rink. And click here stop by the facebook page and press that “LIKE BUTTON”!!!

Thank you for the support so far!

Enjoy people.

Triple P featuring Tiombe Lockhart- “I got you”

This is an oldie but goodie.  The overall groove of the track is just on point flow, Tiombe’s voice is just CANDY. I can see her smiling throughout the entire song, and the more i listen, i begin to do the same :)

hope you guys enjoy.

you can buy the track via Itunes-http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/triple-p/id57844062

“The BIG Payback”- Neco Redd and ISIS

This  came out in 2008, i copped it sometime a year later simply because i saw NECO REDD on one if the tracks. the first time i heard this ladies voice was on a Triple P album (thats Platinum Pied Pipers to the rest of you guys) I simply LOVE Neco’s voice. Its soulful and its STRONG. I have no clue what her range is, i just think she is a woman that can SANG! Update: I found her on facebook, which constitutes a GOOD DAY.

“LOVE” is a simple track, the synths are reminiscent of old school funk, and Neco just does her thing.

The second track i posted is by  ISIS, its called “BLUE BERRY WEED” its just one of those chillout tracks that you zone to, which is exactly what ISIS sounds like she is doing :)

If you like these, click on the album cover and it will go straight to the album on ITUNES.

ENJOY!

LOVE (featuring Neco Redd)

Blue Berry Weed (feat. ISIS)

“Playa Del Arenal” Miraflores

A little bit of latin flavor in this one. The “Chillout lounge series” is a great series if you want to listen to some damn good lounge music. This cut by Miraflores is one of my favorites. All i need now is my million dollar mansion, a beautiful sundeck and some white zifandel :)

Purchase this song on amazon.

You may also find this on ITUNES using the search option. just type in the song.

Lady Bug Mecca (yes the digable planets chick)

If I Need To Move On (Sometimes) by Ladybug Mecca
This was a little Gem i picked up from itunes. Though im not a big fan of Itunes, (They killed the free music industry for all of my generation and the next) i gotta admit, im able to find some cool tunes with their “Genius” application. It basically, suggests artists that you would like, and it actually gets it right! Anyway, LadyBug has been solo for a while now, and after listening to more than a few of her cd’s (she has three i think) this is the one song that is worthy of sublime grooves. This song right here? Top down in the ride, with your girls ,(yes its a ladies song)  and nothing but highway.

Mmmmmmm…a car full of ladies…

:)
